SEBEHELA SELEPE

CHAIRMAN

Mr. Sebehela Selepe is the Chairman of Moruo Development Chairman of the Audit Advisory Committee (Board) at the Office of the Auditor General, a Member of the Board of Director and Chairman of Audit Committee of the Nedbank. He is Chairman of Public Accountability Committee which joins leadership of the Office of the Auditor General, Accountant General and Lesotho Institute of Accountants. He is also elected by professional organisation as President of Federation of Professional Bodies Lesotho currently under registration. 

Mr Selepe has extensive experience in the areas of Governance, finance, risk Management and audit, has sat on several Boards both in public and private sector and has sat as Council Member, Chair of Education Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Vice President and President of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants. He was a specialist member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Lesotho Water and Electricity Authority for ten years. 

Mr Selepe also served on the National Reforms Authority that was formed under the oversight of SADC to transform the country into a well-governed, peaceful and economically viable country. 

Mr. Selepe is a Chartered Accountant and the Chief Internal Auditor of the National University of Lesotho since 2006. He served the University as Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration (SAVC-FA) between April 2011 and September 2013. As the SAVC-FA he was reporting to the Vice Chancellor and overseeing Finance Function, Human Resources Department, Works and Maintenance Department (WMD) and ICT department until he reverted to internal audit. He joined the University after serving several managerial positions at the Maluti Mountain Brewery which include being Cost Accountant, Information Systems Manager and Head of Internal Audit.

ANDRÉ BOTHMA

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Andre Bothma is a seasoned entrepreneur and Senior Managing Director boasting over three decades of expertise in the construction and property development realm. Holding a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Natal Technikon and a Programme for Management Development from the University of Cape Town, his credentials underscore his commitment to excellence.

 

Throughout his illustrious career, Andre has cultivated a sterling reputation for steering multi-million rand projects to successful fruition. Renowned for his keen eye for lucrative investment opportunities and astute development strategies, he has consistently delivered results that exceed expectations.

 

Currently, Andre serves as CEO for MG Health Ltd and hold pivotal roles as Managing Director for Moruo Developments, LSP Holdings, and Chairman of LSP Construction (Pty) Ltd. His influence extends across a spectrum of enterprises, including Directorial positions in esteemend ventures such as LSP Properties, D&D Enterprises, Clan Murray Developments, Advance Developments, Topnotch Developments and Moletsane Estate.

 

His leadership acumen is further evidenced by his tenure as a Director of Storm Mountain Diamonds Lesotho (Pty) Ltd and Steel and Reinforcing Suppliers (Pty) Ltd as well as his Chairmanship for Lifes’ Comfort Solution and Round Table Maseru.

 

Beyond the corporate arena, Andre is dedicated to community enrichment, evident in his role on the Board of St Andrews School Bloemfontein.

SAM MONTSI

DIRECTOR

Sam is a Mosotho businessman based in Cape Town, South Africa. His family business, Montsi Investments, owns and operates engineering services businesses active in South Africa, Ghana and Uganda. Since 1996 Montsi Investments has been a partner in a major shipbuilding company, Damen Shipyards Cape Town, focused on building steel hull work vessels for the African market.

MPHAIPHELE MAQUTU

DIRECTOR

He is a Governance Specialist and a seasoned Non-Executive Director bringing with

him a wealth of experience on the workings of sound Boards in the promotion of

ethical and effective leadership in the Corporate space.

He is both an Accountant and Corporate Lawyer by training and qualification

holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree (B. Com Accounting), Bachelor of Laws

degree (LLB) and a Master of Laws degree (LLM).

He did his Master of Laws degree with the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, whereat

his specific area of focus has been Advanced Corporate Law, Advanced Contract

Law and Advanced Tax Law (subjects of which testify to the fact that he is in tune

with the recent trends of modern day Corporate Business Administration).

Added to his profile, is extensive Board Secretarial, Legal Risk Management and

Corporate Governance experience in the corporate environment wherein he has

worked since 1992.

He has been instrumental in setting up the Board Secretariat departments in many

State owned enterprises in Lesotho (including the Central Bank of Lesotho).

While still gainfully employed, for 2 years he worked as a part-time lecturer at the

National University of Lesotho where he lectured second year B.Com students in

Business Law.

He is well acquainted with the Compliance Management function (both from a

‘regulatee’ and a ‘regulator’ perspective) as this function also formed and continues

to form an integral part of his daily life.

Amongst his passions is the subject of ethics and ethical conduct at the workplace

where he brings with him, practical in-depth knowledge on the subject within the

realm of Corporate Law.

He has been invited on numerous occasions to present papers on the subject of

Governance and Ethical Conduct of meetings by the Lesotho Institute of

Accountants where he shared the stage with many renowned international presenters

from the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA).

Inclusive of his immediate past appointment as CEO of the Lesotho Tourism

Development Corporation, he has worked in the corporate world for a period

spanning just over 26 years, of which 17 years was at executive management level in

various parastatals of Lesotho where enterprise wide risk management has and

continues to be the order of the day.Page 2 of 2

During his 6 year tenure as CEO of the Lesotho Tourism Development

Corporation, he served on the Board of the SADC Regional Tourism Organization

of Southern Africa where he was later entrusted to serve as the Deputy Chairperson.

From 2013 to 2015 he served on the Board of the Lesotho National Development

Corporation (LNDC) and was soon thereafter appointed as Chairman of the

Governance Board sub-committee of the LNDC.

He was re-appointed to the LNDC Board in 2020 and continued to serve as Board

Member and Chairperson of the Governance Committee till his tenure came to an

end in October 2023.

He currently serves as Chairperson of the LNIG Hollard Group of Companies after

having served as Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee of the very same

company.; an appointment which undergoes very rigorous fit and proper tests from

the regulator (namely; the Central Bank of Lesotho) ranging from tax compliance,

ethical conduct, criminal records and acquaintances that could adversely impact on

sound judgement within the realm of corporate decision making.

Having set up the compliance function at the Lesotho Post Bank, and having worked

at the Central bank of Lesotho; attest to his in depth knowledge of regulatory

requirements while also being in tune with the dictates of private sector preservation

of return on investment.

Stakeholder management is central to his daily routine ranging from the Board,

Board Committees, Government departments, Auditors, Tax Authorities, Staff,

Community and Industry Forums, Private Sector etc.

To further his passion for Corporate Governance, he took up membership of the

IoDSA were in 2019 he further aggressively pursued the 7 module Certified

Directorship program and has since qualified as a Certified Director.

ISAAC NKAMA

DIRECTOR

Isaac holds an MSc in Real Estate – Retail Property (Shopping Centres) from the University of Pretoria and is a former Board Member of JHI – a leading real estate services company that operates in South Africa and 35 other countries. 

 

He is also a formally qualified Foresight Strategist and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Futures Studies/Strategic Foresight and MPhil In Futures Studies/Strategic Foresight (both from Stellenbosch Business School), MBA (Bond University, Australia), MSc in Leadership (Leeds Business School, UK) and a BSc (Hons) in Energy Studies (University of Johannesburg). He is an alumnus of Machabeng International School. 

 

He is a former Director of Economic Affairs for East, Central and Southern Africa at Boeing, one of the world’s two largest aircraft manufacturers and has held senior positions at Armscor, Reunert Defence and Spoornet. 

 

He has served as a Non-Executive Director in the property, aviation and defence industry sectors.

 

He is on the Board of Aranda Textiles and runs Foresight Africa Consulting. 

MPHO VUMBUKANI

DIRECTOR

Mr. Mpho Vumbukani is a Certified Director of the Institute of Directors in South

Africa. He is an experienced Business Executive who is leading the LNIG Hollard

Life and Insure Companies in Lesotho, as Chief Executive Officer. He is serving as a

Board Member of Moruo Developments and Advance Development.

Prior to this role, he was the Chief Executive and Board Director of Standard Lesotho

Bank and the Lesotho Postbank respectively. During his tenure at Standard Lesotho

Bank, he chaired the Boards of Stanlib Lesotho, Liberty Life Lesotho and the

Standard Lesotho Bank Pension Fund Board of Trustees.

He is also the former Chairman of the Bankers’ Association of Lesotho, the SADC

Banking Association, and former President of the World Savings Banks Institute –

Africa Region. Currently Mr. Vumbukani is the President of the Association of

Lesotho Employers and serving as the Chairman of the Insurance Association of

Lesotho.

Mr. Vumbukani has an MBA in Finance and Diploma in Management from Henley

Management College (UK). He is a B. Comm (Accounting) Graduate from the

National University of Lesotho.

JOHAN RETIEF BOTHMA

DIRECTOR

Johan Retief Bothma, fondly known as Danny Bothma, boasts extensive expertise in the hotel, construction and property development industry.

From 1968 to 1977, he successfully owned and operated Moletsane Trading Station, Maluti Retailers, and the Orange River Hotel in Quthing.  Furthermore, Danny’s managerial acumen extended to Hotel Mount Maluti, where he served as Managing Director from 1972 to 2006.

In 1977, Danny embarked on a remarkable journey by establishing Lesotho Steel Products (Pty) Ltd, later rebranded as LSP Construction, where he served as its driving force until 1993 when his son assumed the role of Managing Director.

Danny's professional affiliations in Lesotho include memberships with prominent organizations such as Lesotho Bank Ltd (2003-2006), Lesotho Airways Board (1984-2000), Liquor Licensing Board (1988-1993), Lesotho Tourist Board (1987-1994), and Chairmanship of the Hotel Owners Association (1983-1992), as well as active involvement with Round Table (1976-1994).

Currently Danny serves on the Board of Directors for LSP Construction (Pty) Ltd, LSP Holdings (Pty) Ltd, LSP Properties (Pty) Ltd and Moruo Developments Ltd.

SEITEBATSO SEEISO

Mr Robert Angus Yeats, based in Lesotho is currently a Non-Executive Director at Moruo Developments Company. 

 

Other Directorships: He is a Founder of Alliance Insurance Company where he is an Executive Director serving as a Chief Executive for the Group. Mr Years serves on the board of Jonsson Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd, Maputsoe as an Executive Director. In addition, He is also a Director at Clan Murray Properties and Collier & Yeats Maseru. He previously served at the Lesotho Flour Mills board, at various Committees i.e Remuneration and a member of General Affairs Committee as an Executive Director

 

Business Skills and Development: As a non-executive and executive director, he has decades of experience and knowledge across several areas in financial services and various industries such as Property, Retail, Manufacturing, Agriculture and Transportation. Mr Yeats to keep abreast with governance, attends courses through Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA). He has further developed skills in investment strategies. 

 

Other Leadership Interests: Socially, Mr Yeats also serves in Free State Polo Association as a chairman.

NOLO LETELE

DIRECTOR

After leaving Lesotho National Broadcasting Service where he worked as Chief Engineer for 15 years, Nolo joined M-Net in 1990 and pioneered MultiChoice’s expansion into the rest of Africa. He was subsequently promoted to Group CEO of MultiChoice SA in 1999, which position he occupied for 11 years. As CEO of MultiChoice he pioneered the highly successful Phuthuma Nathi Scheme, which has brought financial empowerment to black people. He was then appointed Executive Chairman of MultiChoice in 2009, a position he occupied for 10 years. He stepped down as Executive Chairman of MultiChoice in December 2019. He has won several awards, the most notable being the Lifetime Achievement Award for media development in Africa (Millennium Excellence Foundation)  in 2012, and the Black Business Council Award for media excellence. Currently Nolo is a non-executive director of Naspers. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the IEE Institute (UK). He has a BSc (Hons) degree in electronic engineering from the University of Southampton (UK).
